Carpet Cleaning

New carpet can improve the appearance of any room, but how can carpet that is walked on every day continue looking new? To keep your carpet clean, it's necessary to vacuum regularly with a strong, well-functioning and properly-filtered vacuum cleaner. At least twice a week. Unfortunately, due to traffic, children, pets and normal wear, carpet fibers inevitably become soiled, and a dull appearance results. And no matter how much you vacuum, eventually you will need to call a professional carpet cleaner.

We use a Truck mount Steam cleaning system with temperatures reaching 240 degrees! not only will this get your carpets clean, it will sanitize as well. We then bring in carpets drying fans to dry your carpet as quickly as possible. Here are our proper steps of carpet cleaning.

1. Vacuum.

2. Pre spray detergent so that it loosens the soil for extraction.

3. Steam clean and extract.

4. Apply stain resistant.

5. Dry carpets with specialized drying fans.

10 Tips for care of your Carpet

1. Vacuum thoroughly and often. The majority of carpet wear is caused by dirt, sand, and grit. Oily soils attract more debris and frequent vacuuming will reduce soil and dirt buildup.

2. Remove stains as soon as possible, 99% of all stains can be removed by one cleaning agent or another if they are cleaned in the first few hours. The longer a stain chemically reacts with the carpet the more difficult it will be to remove.

3. Test the cleaning solution before applying it to a noticeable area of the carpet. All carpets are different. Some carpets are very sensitive to acid based cleaners and will lose their color quickly. Other carpet color may also be affected by alkalis

4. Start with the mildest appropriate spotters. Avoid the harsher spotting agents unless it is absolutely needed and always neutralize highly basic or acidic cleaners after they are used.

5. Spots should never be dug or brushed. The proper procedure is to scrape the spot towards the middle and then try to absorb the spot into a cloth or a white towel. A great tamping tool idea would be a meat tenderizer.

6. Spotters, Shampoos, and detergents should not be overused. The result can lead to residue left in the carpet that thorough vacuuming may still not remove

7. Avoid over-wetting. Our carpet detergents are chemically active enough so they do not need a tremendous amount of wetting. An excess in carpet moisture can lead to mold, brown out, adhesion problems and the like.

8. Extract residue if possible. Steam cleaning will clean the carpet fibers the best by extracting dirt and detergent residue, which powders off the carpet. Periodic steam cleaning will flush out this dirt and other organisms deep in the carpet.

9. Never "coat" a dirty or spotty carpet. After scrubbing or extracting a dirty carpet, if you are not satisfied with the results, do not apply a coat of carpet protector as this will result in "seal in the dirt" making it harder to remove it the next time. Either re-scrub or call Monty's carpet cleaning service to clean properly or leave the carpet until the next cleaning cycle before applying a type of stain guard.

10. Vacuum your carpet frequently and thoroughly. It is so important it deserves to be mentioned again. Vacuum your carpet frequently and thoroughly.

Bonus tip!- Schedule regular carpet cleaning from Monty's. Every 9-12 months depending on your situation.

Why should I have my carpets Professionally steam cleaned?

Keeping sand and dirt out from between the fibers of your carpet will greatly reduce wear and tear of your carpet. Steam Cleaning your Carpets will add life of your carpet. Carpet should always be cleaned the way the manufacturer specifies approximately every 12 - 18 months.

My carpet was soaked with water what should I do?

Your carpet should be professionally handled. First by extracting all water out of the carpet then use professional (blowers) dryers . It’s best to use one of our professionals that are trained in water restoration in order to ensure carpet, pad & sub-floor is completely dried within 12 to 24 hours to prevent mold. If the carpet was contaminated with sewage, it is recommended to replace the carpet and the padding.

My carpet was flooded by a sewer back up. Can I save the carpet?

We don’t recommend trying to save sewage contaminated carpet. Highly absorbent materials such as carpet and pad cannot be washed in hot (130 degrees F) for at least 10 minutes. This contaminated material should be properly disposed of by one of our trained restoration professionals.
